 I have one more book.

  虽然看起来有点怪,但是这句话语法上是正确的.这里的more是形容词.只是,单纯理解为“我还有一本书”或者“我多了一本书”不好,“语境”在理解这句话时至关重要.

   比如: --"Holy shit! I forgot to take my history book with me! Mr. Gosling is gonna kill me! "                       --"Here, use mine."

            --"Really! Oh, I love you,Jack! Wait! No, if I use your history book, what about you? Mr. Gosling is going to kill you instead of me! I can't take your book."

            --"Relax Hurley. I have one more history book. Mr. Gosling won't kill anyone of us." 

在以上语境中,I have one more book顺理成章,翻译成什么,显而易见.同时,more还可以替换成extra.不同的是,extra更能体现“多出来,多余”这个含义.比如,--"Hey, it not fair! Everybody's got only one history book. Why dose Jack has an extra one?" 当然,这里也可以写成has one more book?只是不如extra更贴切.

      你看,jack多了一本书（第二个语境）,jack还有一本书（第一个语境）.在英语用法上几乎相同,在两个语境中说的是同一件事,翻译却不尽相同.是不是稍微理解一些了呢.（仔细一想,“多了一本书”和“还有一本书”即使在中文中,不也是同一件事的两种说法吗?）
