3. 还有一种说法是 have difficulty doing sth 是 have difficulty in doing sth. 省略了介词 in.相同的短语还有 have trouble (in) doing sth.（做某事有麻烦）.
因此,I had difficult finding the keyhole 是正确的.当然也可以说成 I had difficult in finding the keyhole.不过,前者更符合口语,后者有些学究味儿.
